Opening Day Pancakes, Parade & Games!

Opening Day is this Saturday, April 20!

Pancakes!

The day begins with the traditional Opening Day Pancake Breakfast at the Ancient Order of Hibernians Hall at 375 Ontario St., which begins at 8:45 a.m.

This is always a fun way to start the day, get fueled up for the season and give back to the AOH, one of National’s most loyal sponsors.

The full flyer is available here, but the breakfast runs from 8:45 – 10:30 a.m. and costs $10 for adults, $5 for kids 5-12, and is free for kids less than 5. We hope to see you there!

Parade!

If you’re not joining us for breakfast, please arrive at the AOH no later than 10:40 a.m. to meet your coaches, receive your uniforms and line up for the parade! Coaches will have signs with your team names. If you have a National hat, please wear it to the parade!

The parade will leave the AOH promptly at 11 a.m., so do not be late!

From the AOH, the parade will march down Ontario Street to Woodlawn, then down Partridge to National for the ceremonial first pitch on the Majors Field.

Games!

The first round of games on all three fields is scheduled to begin at 12:30 sharp. The full day’s schedule is available on the league’s website, and your team-specific schedule should be visible to you in SportsEngine.

The Opening Day schedule will run a bit later than a normal Saturday due to the late start with the parade. Typically, the first games will be played on all three fields at 10:30 a.m.

Weather

The parade and games are on unless you hear differently from National. The forecast right now looks… good enough for spring baseball in Upstate New York. If there is a change to the schedule, we will send a league-wide message through SportsEngine and post to the National Facebook page.

Concessions

We will be looking for volunteer help in the Concession stand throughout the day and season. A dedicated group of volunteers has prepared it to open, but it will take all of us to keep it open. Please stop by Saturday to ask how you can help!
